Bankok, Thailand

From one big city to another. Since the last time I left Bankok I always sayd that I didn't really like that city. But as soon as my feet touched khaosan road again I realized that I was wrong. I arrived midday together with two dutch girls I met i Cambodga one mounth earlier. Runned around like forever at the airport trying to find the skytrain to the centre of Bankok. Took us I while before we realized that it didn't exist since we arrived to another airport this time. Catched a cab to khaosan insteed where we spend the day together before they headed to Chang Mai in the evening. My orginal plan was to leave in the evening as well, but khaosan road convinced me to stay one night. Catched up with two australian guys in the evening, who I met in Vietnamn. Had some beers together and went for a tuk-tuk tour around the city.  They where heading back home the next day and I was suppose to leave in the morning as well. Suppose to. I Woke up at seven and realized that I missed the bus. Took a cab to the trainstation just to figure out that the train that was leaving at eight was fullbooked so I might as well wait for the nightbus. I hate the nightbus. So I went back to my hostel for some more hours of sleep before I booked a new ticket for tonight. Grabed some breakfast at a cafe where I spent the rest of the day feeling sorry for myself.  Got some australian and english company after a while and ended up chatting with them for a couple of hours before it was time to catch the bus. So my day wasn't all bad.

Hanoi, Vietnamn

After 18 hours busride I headed straight to the hostel, where I got welcomed by beer and tequila. Went on to a rooftopbar along the river, with a great view over the city. Later on I met up with Alex again, who I travelled Cambodga together with, and we went out for more beers to enjoy the nightlife of Hanoi.
How I managed to wake up in time for my tourtrip to halongbay is a mystery. But I did. I booked the first tour I passed by and was not entire sure what I got myself into. So in the morning I saw myself in a tourbus full of locals and cheezy couples who could'nt keep their hands off eachother ... At least I got my own company as the greatest company. Halong bay was amazing anyway. Went on a boat and did some kayaking between all the beautiful montains. With a fantastic view who just takes your breath straight away. We stayed at the boat for one night before heading back to Hanoi. Spent my last night in the big city with Max, who I also spend my time in Cambodga with. He introduced me to his new friends and we all had a good night out. Exept from the fact that all the bars kicked us out because of the police.

Wellwell, my time in Vietnamn ended way to fast.  I'm now heading back to Bankok, where I first started this trip a few months ago. The time really flies by. I had a great time in Vietnamn, even if Cambodga is hard to beat. But I still wish I got to spend more time here.

Hoi An, Vietnamn

After hours and hours waiting for the bus at the travel agency in Nha Trang, they finally came to the conclusion that it left without me. Appearently I was suppose to pass by in the morning just to make sure that I really wanted a seat on that bus, even if I did book it the night before. So after more hours of arguing, yelling, explaination and apologizing they finally maked me pay 320.000 dong for a new ticket later that night (100 kr). I put my  'sad little girl' face on and they decided to give me 100.000d back  and pay for the taxi to the busstation.

Arrived to Hoi An early the next morning. Met the belgian girl from my diving and took a cab to the centre where we shared a room. As she needed a nap I went downtown to be cultural. It is a beautiful city, small and cosy right next to the river and with an intresting arcitecture. Visit some temples and museum and stuff. Nothing too special but at least it should make my mother proud as she's worries about me missing out on that stuff.

As I was walking down the street I bumped in to Kirsten and Aby, the dutch girls I travelled through Laos together with and who I haven't seen since. Met up for dinner later on together with my belgian friend and had a great time. Catched some drinks at the bar where I met english Nick again, and my swedish friends who I joined while the girls where heading back home

Nha Trang, Vietnamn

I expected this town to be a 'sihanoukville' kind of place. I'm not sure if the people who told me this ever been there, cause it's nothing like it. Still got a beautiful beach though with a fantastic seaview over the nearby islands. As I got only one night here because of my tight sceduale, I had to check out the nightlife too. Not that much of a happening but free shots and free drinks in the bars, so at least the're trying. Met some swedish guys I hanged out with in Saigon though and chatted with them for a couple of hours. Have to keep my swedish language alive in some way.

Got up early to spend the day with chorals and fishes, as me and Natalie went fundiving. Incredible. Nothing like Koh Tao but still a great experience. A whole different world down there and it's an amazing feeling beeing that weightless. Did the dive with a Belgian girl too so it was three of us plus the divemaster. Had an underwater camera with us as well which was good fun. Later on we spent a couple of hours with Carmen on the beach before I had to say goodbye to my new dear friends to catch a bus to Hoi An. Hopefully I'll meet up with Natalie in Chang Mai again.

Dalat, Vietnamn

Had an amazing day in beautiful Dalat. I've missed some adventure, and crazy activities so I convinced Natalie to come with me at this canyoning trip. Absailing off waterfalls and stuff. Glide through them, jump off them. Fire yourself down along the fall. A little bit scary but what an incredible experience. Together with a group of four others we had the best time. Went for dinner together later that night and in the end of the evening I finally realized what kind of country switzerland is.

Dalat is a fantastic place, a bit cold though. Have to wear my hoodie for the first time in asia, and are freezing while walking outside in the evening. But I'm still in love with this place, so much more to see and do than I have time to. I really wish I bought a two week visa so I could spend a month i Vietnamn. Those two weeks swedish people get for free is not at all enough. I hate to be in a hurry.

Mui Ne, Vietnamn

Mui Ne is a beautiful small town with an amazing seaview, famous for the kitesurfing and huge sanddunes. Me and Natalie are staying in a single private room, and are sharing a tiny bed to save some money. Arrived in the evening and met up with Nick and the english guys I travelled around the islands of Sihanoukville with. Planned to go out together but got stuck at their hostelroom drinking wine and playing flipcup.

The next morning we spend a couple of hours sleeping on the beach and swimming with the waves before renting a motorbike again. Decided to share one to make it cheaper. Given that both me and Natalie crashed our bikes the last time, none of us had any allegiance to our driving. Specially not with someone on the back. We was about to find the sanddune, which is harder than you may think. I am totally lost when it comes to locations. Natalie is even worse. None of us was thinking about checking the tank which made us end up, all alone in the middle of nowhere with no gas left. After a while we stopped a local man on a moto who was happy to help us and gave us gas enaugh to take us to the pentholstation. We finally maked it to the red sanddune for sunset, which was incredible. Red sandy areas as far as you can see, while the sun is going down. Never seen something like that.
Met up with Carmen for dinner and st patricksday celebration. Went from bar to bar to get free drink cause of our green shirts. Wasn't that much going on though, and to many russians.

Ho chi mihn city, Vietnamn

After almost 3 weeks in Cambodga I left it behind me to moving on to Vietnamn. It's such a great contry though, with amazing culture, fantastic nature, beautiful islands and beaches, great people and cheep wiskey. I had the best time over there and are really going to miss it.

Natalie came with me on the12 hours busride that took us to Ho Chi Minh city, also known as Saigon. Felt like beeing back in Bankok, with the crazy traffic, busy streets, and with the 'backpackerstreet' like khao san road but not as much going on.

The next morning I met up with Natalie and a dutch Carmen from our bus, to go explore the city. The market, Palace, notre dame church, war museum and so on. The museum was really cool because it was such a contrast from the Khmer Rough and Cambodgian history. With all the guns, wepons, bombs and horrible chemicals they use to destroy the contry. And the people. Horrible.

Later that night I ran into Anna on the street, that i haven't seen since we split up in siam reap after several weeks together. Spend the night with her and her friend, had a lot to catch up on. Then we had our tearfull goodbye right before bedtime, knowing that we won't see eachother before I decide to visit her in Amsterdam.

Kampot, Cambodga

I left Sihanoukville, the ocean, beaches and all the beautiful islands to take of to Kampot. This wonderful town southeast of Cambodga. Reminds me a bit of Laos, with the river and a fantastic montain view.
I decided to give my motorbikeskills another shot, after my non sucessful try back in Laos where I ended up in the bush. Well, it turns out that I really should keep distance to that kind of motorized vehicles ..

Together with english Nathalie and Irish Meg we went on a motorbiketrip for the day. Tried to find a waterfall who was suppose to be amazing but apparently didn't exist. Got a great riverview though.
Me moved on to the central market, before we tried to find this big cave. We didn't find it. We did find the pepperplantage though which was kinda cool. Then we realized that the cave was to far, and tried to find another one on our way back. We didn't make it to that one either. Later on we went to the orphanage, and played some games with the kids. It was incredible, the smile on their faces is non descrieble. Made their day .. and ours.

I was really proud if my driving today, at first. I loved it. My bike was my new bff and we had so much fun together on the road. I even considered bring it with me back home (lol, I'm not going home). But all of sudden it turned in to my enemy. Stopped working and I had to kickstart it every time. Ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere without giving me any kind of notice. Then it started to live it's own life and decided to control our situation on the road and crash right into Megs bike and maked us both face the ground. ( I'm totaly blaming the bike, not the fact that I accelerated to fast) I was fine though, so was Meg, even if my helmet saved my life while I was falling head first over my scooter. My bike -on the other hand- was not fine and almost decided to give up on life. Some locals came to our rescue and saved it even if the damage where still there, which I had to pay way to many dollars extra for. This really should keep me away from scooters in the future. We'll se about that. I still had a very great but intense day. So when we finally got back to the hostel the beer was well deserved

Koh Ta Kiev, Bambooisland, Cambodga

As Caroline headed to a funeral in Bankok, I went off to the other islands around here together with some friends we met a few days ago. Bambooisland and Koh Ta Kiev, for one night each. Two very small but beautiful islands. So everyone there had to gathered in this only bar to drink beers and play wierd games together. And meet new friends. Good times.

In the daytime I did some cliffjumping and stuff which was good but kinda dangerous if you didn't hit the wather at the right spot. The rocks was everywere. Later on we was able to see the glowing plankton during our nightswim, really cool. Everywhere around you.

I'm now back to where I started. Sihanoukville. Allthough, The boat who was suppose to pick us up decided to not pick us up. So we were stranded on the island for a while before we find this snorkelingtrip boat thing who could take us back.

Koh Rong, Cambodga

I said goodbye to the guys, sadly enough, and found swedish Caroline who came with me to this island - Koh Rong.
After Carolines afternoon nap -which she's really needed after beeing up all night - we went for a trek to the other side of the island. Had to hike through the jungle and we managed to go in the wrong direction for ages. We finally got the right way though and found paradise, with a beautiful, breathtaking, white, neverending beach. Magical. To spare our lives we decided to take a taxiboat back to the mainbeach. Trying to find our way through the forest in the dark would definitly get us killd. When we're back at our beach, and about to step out from the boat my feet got stuck in some point and I manage to fell, head first, into the water. I'm glad I didn't had any valuables in my pockets. Or ... any pockets to put my valuables in. And I really wish someone got it on tape cause it probably looked quite funny ..

Sihanoukville, Cambodga

I decided to go to Sihanoukville Together with Tom, Max and Alex. Still feeling fucking retarded when I'm trying to speak with them cause I never get what they talking about.. nod and smile.

So I'm back with the beaches again for the first time in over a month. Feels great. It's our fourth(?) day here, and the last day for us together before Max and Alex heading over to Vietnamn and Tom is flying home. And I still don't have a clue where on earth I'm going .. Have to book my flight from Hanoi, which is kinda hard to do when I don't know where to go.
During our days here we been spending all of our time on the beach. Or most of it, and the rest in the bar. Or bed. Anyway .. I'm alive, I'm having a good time.  All you need to know!

Phom Pheng, Cambodga

Arrived to the capital of Cambodga, Phom Pheng, yesterday after the most terrible busride ever. So when we finally got here we didn't go for the beer, but for massage and moviewatching until bedtime.
Went for the killingfield and S-21 prison today. Where Khmer Rouge used to kill this huge number of innocent people to transform the contry into a peasant-dominated agrarian cooperative. You have to google the history cause i'm not explaining it. Anyway .. We got our own private audioguide to understand the story. It's really sad to hear, and to understand it. Fruktansvärt, hemskt. Intresting but yeah .. Fucked up.

This is also our very last day all together before Daisy have to flight home, Saskie and Danny going over to Vietnam and the rest of us are heading to Sihanukhville. Planned to go easy with movies again but ended up in the bar. Well, I love beer so I didn't mind.
