Battembang, Cambodga

After a lovely time together with Anna and Rebecca we all decided to split up. As they both headed to Sihanukville by themselfs I found a group of 6 other people from the hostel who I ended up together with on the bus to Battembang. They all met during their way, one dutch girl otherwise all english.  Even if my english are getting better during my trip a still have a hard time understanding english people with their accent and way to fast speaking. But I'm doing okay.

So when arrived to Battembang yesterday we found a cheap hostel, who unluckly only had five beds available for the seven of us. Sleeping on the floor and shearing beds was so on the table again.

After arrival we headed of to a bamboorailway, which was okay but not as awesome as it sounds. Today we were a bit hangovered, but still maked it to the killingcave in the late afternoon. The cave was very cool though, but with a horrible history. You could still see the bones in the rocks. And it was a good damn climbing up there as well, but with a good view.

Siam Reap, Cambodga

New contry, new oppertuneties. The border and visas went well without any big troubles. Of course I lost my photos and had to charge a few dollars extra for the visas. I'm not even suprised.  Spent the busride trying to figure out the new currency. The acually have a very wierd way to handle it. You pay in dollars but get your change back in cambodgian riel. Wich I think it's stupid while most of the people may think it's handleble.

We arrived to Siam Riep in the middle of the night, and spend tje day after exploring the town. Went to the old market, buyed some shoes and sunglasses (suprise).  In the evening we met up with the dutch girls again before they were heading south, and a swedish guy we met our first night in Bankok. Feels good to be back in a bigger city, but I don't really like this one. Feels more insecure than both Thailand and Laos, with stupid old men down the streets trying to sell you drugs and shit and a lot of beggers everywhere, who are so desperated that they even trying to mug you.

Anyway, had an early night cause we went up really unnormaly early this morning to watch the sunrise over Ankor Wat. Amazing. Spent around 12 hours bicycling on this shity bikes we rent for one dollar, between all the really cool temples of Ankor. Its really really big so we did some good biking. Several miles in the worst heat. My workout for the last month. And all the temple was incredible. Even if I did missed my mother there, she would love it!

Don Det, Laos

One more night in the bus took us here. Dondet, one of the 4000 islands in the Mekongriver, south of Laos with the view over Cambodga.
I really like this place. And when all the bars close in the evening they got this campfire on the beach where you just hanging out, meet some peope, playing the guitarr and having a good time. Today we went on a boattrip through the river and all the islands to another beach for some bbq and good hangout!

So I met up with Rebecca again and tomorrow we're moving on to Cambodga. I'm going to miss Laos and it's beautiful views. I'm going to miss all the people and places. Our hostel in Luang Prabang, tubingen i Vang Vieng, all the friends we made and had to say goodbye to. But I'm reallt looking foward to experience a new contry, new places, new culture, new language, new currency, new people. Everything.

- Tahkek, Laos

So after hours and hours and 30 more hours of busrides, and at least one god night sleep, we we're finally back on track. Rebecca went further south, to four tousand islands. Probably meet up with her again later, but I got so much more time then she has and don't feel like be in a hurry. Insteed I went with Anna and the other 2 dutch girls to go on a scooteradventure trought all this local villages  for a few days. I never learned how to drive one of those, so I spent most of the time on the back. But we had a great time, driving trought the montains, with the wind in your hair and with an amazing view. Cool experience. The roads wasn't that good and sometimes it was like driving on the beach, or on the top of mount everest. So when you finally reached the good roads it felt like driving in heaven. The same feeling as when you finally get to drive a real car, after only been driving my fathers old one ..
When we reached our hostel the first night they only had one room left, which we had to share with the four of us. 2 beds and one toilet. Not that much space, but it was cosy and cheapcheap.
The locals around did not speak english at all, and just to ask for the toilet or to order food was a big challange. Specially when you have to explain that you don't eat meat ..

Our last day on the road we went up really early to spend the first three hours in this little boat thought an amazing, really cool cave before driving 200 km back to Tekahk to catch a bus in the afternoon. In some way we made it, even if the time was tight and our scooter almost crashed when we got 50 left.

But the most important thing: I'm Still alive!

Muang Ngoi, Laos

During my second day in Luang Prabang I finally felt good again. There is acually not very much to do in that town, and all the bars close very early. But thanks to our hostel, and all the great people there, we had a fantastic time. We spent the nights in the hostels public area, chilling out with all this people. Drank some beer, played some cards, pool and guitarr all night long. During the day we went to an amazing swimingpool, really cool. With poolbar, volleyball and everything you can wish for.
During our last night we went midnightbowling (?) with all the people from our dorm, really fun. Managed to get two hours of sleep before the bus was leaving while Anna and Rebecca stayd up all night. Took us a while to decide where we're heading next, but finally decided to go north together with two dutch girls. Vilket take us here. Muang Ngoi.

Muang Ngoi is a fantastic place. Not at all turisty, with the greatest view over the river with all the montains behind. No wifi, no electricity. Nothing that we are use to. But a beautiful place. Spent our first 16 hours here sleeping, thanks to last night.  And then I got my sickness back. Spent all the day in our hammock, with the perfekta utsikten, and where the sun, right now, går ner bakom bergstopparna. Kinda good as well, and I'm already feeling better! This is the perfekt place to rest for a couple of days, and I think we all needed that. And we're now heading back to Luang Prabang, Viantiane and vidare söderut tomorrow!

Luang Prabang, Laos

After spending way too many days i Vang Vieng we finally decided to go to Luang Prabang yesterday. The busride was horrible. Like a rollercoster throught the montains, but with a beautiful view. And if you tried to sleep you woke up a few seconds later cause your head bumped into the roof or you were about to throw up. And they drived like crazy, think our driver raced against the other minivans. 6 hours of this near-death experience took us here, Luang Prabang.

The last days in Vang Vieng was like all the other days in Vang Vieng. Everyday looked the same in the end. But we got free acommendation if we helped our host to do some promotionwork. Well, we didn't, but got free acommendation anyway. Guess thats why we stayd a couple of days longer. And because we got sick.
Tried to go out again yesterday but me and Anna went back to sleep after one glas of wine couse we still don't feel good. Really sad, but feel more sorry for everyone back home. I still have an amazing time.

Today we went to a fantastic, beautiful waterfall with some people from our hostel. A few km from Luang Prabang. It was beautiful, amazing and I can't really describe it. Took a swim, even if a shouldn't with my cold and my non recovered crazy mosguitobites. But I just couldnt skip it. It was like wow!

Vang Vieng 7/2

Yesterday I went rockclimbing again, during the whole day and it was as fun as I remembered it. Wow. Such a cool feeling. But today I got the worst träningvärk in my arms. And rygg. Need to get one of those massages again.
Today I didn't feel that well so I've been sleeping and chillin most of the  day. They got this bar/resturant/cafe that we call "the Friends bar" cause they are sending episodes of Friends all days on their big Tvscreen. We love that place.

I decided to go to the hospital today to get my crazy infected mosquitobets checked up. It was probably for the best. Anna came with me as support while Rebecca went on her own adventure. Had to say goodbye to our Australian friends yesterday which was kinda sad cause we had such a great time toghether. Well, guess I have to visit them in Australia then ..

Vang Vieng, Laos

We're now in Vang Vieng, this beautiful little Village surounded by montains in the north of Laos. Yesterday I went tubing toghether with Rebecca, Anna and two really sweet australian girls that we been hanging out with this days. We had so much fun while we where chilling in a tube, som en stor badring, 4km down the river. And with this amazing view around you. Really cool.
Today we went to visit this superhäftiga, gigantiska cave. Its like never ended and it was really cool. Had to use my climbing skills again, and you all know that I love that. Then we took a swim in this beautiful lagun next to the cave. Really deep to so you could jump into the water from the trees.
Love this place, got so much to do!

Viantiane, Laos

New day, new contry, nya möjligheter. Just arrived to Vientiane, Laos. Don't really like this city, so we moving on tomorrow. But I really think the contry has mycket att erbjuda and I looking foward to experience that.
Spent the night on the bus, and this one was not that crowded as I'm use to so it was really easy to get a good night sleep. Before they väckte oss really early for passportcontrol and visa applications.
We're now hanging out with this dutch girl Anna, that we met on the bus and who stays in the same hostel, and a brittish girl that we ran into on the street. She worked as a hairdresser back in England so I ended up getting a haircut. Its really good acually, usally I don't like loosing my hair but it looks better this way.

- Bankok 1/2

Celebrated my last day in Thailand with spending 2 hours in the gym, och en halftimme i massagestolen. Really needed that and träningen kändes fantastisk även om gymmet inte var det bästa. Thats one of the thing I miss most about sweeden. Gymmet och pianospel. Har hängt en del med ett gäng australienare the last few days, and I spent ours talking to one of them about music cause he was a clasical pianoplayer as well. And a really good one.

So, we're now about to leave this beautiful contry for a while. It been exactly one month since I left my hometown Lund behind me. Feels like Im been gone forever. I've learned so much during this time och har verkligen utvecklats till det possitiva. I've had the best time here and it won't be long before I'm back in Thailand again. I know for sure!
